Frequently Asked Question:
What should I prepare for my audition?

  • Auditioners should prepare approximately 1 minute of a song to sing.

  • Auditioners should chose a song that best shows off their voice - the song itself isn’t as important as long as it is a song that the performer is comfortable with and shows off their vocal range!

  • Auditioners can chose to bring sheet music, an accompanist will be provided (BEST OPTION), or they could play a backing track with their phone or chose to sing a capella (without music of any kind).

  • Note: For dance portions of the audition (when applicable) - there is nothing to prepare. **Just please wear clothes/shoes that are easy to move in.

Participation Fee

There is a Youth Participation Fee (elementary through high school) for all Ashland productions.
This youth participation fee is $300 for all shows in the 2025-2026 season.
Ticket sales only account for portion of the cost to put on a production, the participation fee helps cover another small portion of what it takes to give our youth the education and mentorship in the theatre that is paramount to the Ashland experience!

Special Note: Ashland is committed to accessible opportunities for all. Scholarships are available;
those needing to explore scholarship opportunities would do so after casting with the Ashland accounting team.

Inclusive Casting Statement

Ashland strongly encourages performers of all races, abilities, sexual orientations, gender identities, and backgrounds to audition for all productions. This includes participation in workshops, camps, or any other activities at Ashland Productions.
