Build. Grow. Thrive.
The Ashland Performance Company (APC) is a dynamic program that offers students in Grades 5-8 a fun and challenging opportunity to build their skills in acting, dancing, and singing. Students will grow with one another in a positive and creative environment and will thrive in a strong community of fun-loving and talented young artists!
Students will be exposed to a versatile collection of music, scenes/monologues, and choreography numbers, handpicked by our APC staff, designed to challenge them and help them grow into well-rounded performers. APC was created to offer students an individualized skills-based coaching environment not available to them in a traditional theatrical production schedule.
Students will showcase their favorite material in a jam-packed performance for family and friends on the Ashland stage at the end of each session!
To Participate: Students must be in grades 5-8 and have a demonstrated interest in performing on stage. Students will participate in an audition on the first day of the session to determine skill level and best-fit within the company. All students who have registered will be accepted in the company.
Rehearsals: Rehearsals are held on designated Saturday mornings from 9:00am-12:00pm at Ashland Productions. An additional rehearsal is scheduled for the Wednesday of performance week (see schedule below). Participants are expected to attend all scheduled rehearsals, unless approved prior to the start of the session.
Expectations: APC is an elite opportunity for students, therefore students are expected to take their roles within the company seriously. Students will be expected to rehearse and memorize materials outside of APC rehearsals using provided materials. Students will be expected to challenge themselves, remain focused and eager to learn, and support their peers at all times in APC.
